Charles Edward Sheppard

Charles Edward Sheppard, 89, of South Shore, KY, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born May 18, 1934 in Mingo County, West Virginia, to the late Wallace and Ovia (Bratcher) Lynch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Sheppard, three sons, Charles Herbert Sheppard, George Wallace Sheppard, and James Thomas Sheppard, a brother, Paris Sheppard, and a grandson, J.J. Sheppard.

Charles is survived by his wife, Karen (Chamber) Sheppard, four sons, Robert Sheppard (Kimberly) of Statesville, N.C., Jeremy Sheppard, Daniel Sheppard, and Matthew Sheppard, all of South Shore, KY, two daughters, Ada Sheppard of Portsmouth, and Kimberly Renee Porter of Nashville, TN, a sister, Linda Hall of Naugatuck, WV. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, that adored Charles.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 20,2024 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Sunshine Ridge Cemetery in Adams County, Ohio. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. until the start of service at 1:00 P.M.
